All, as a post script to my post # 11114 (linked above), re: the BLS passive optical network (PON) deployment... ...and guess what? The ILECs, unlike the ATHM Consortium, would have to allow ATHM access in accordance with their franchise mandates... along with all other takers in the common carriage model. And there would be plenty of room for all. Think about that one. And think of the implications that would ensue if they didn't follow this approach, in some form of judicious and strategic fashion in order to extend their limited, although by no means paltry, reach- [and their current capacity-, which would actually be paltry, in comparison] capabilities.
