JohnJune 12, 1999 19:11 GMT: Libyan leader Qadhafi tells Zambia's President Chiluba that DR Congo's Kabila has agreed to meet the rebels in Lusaka. Buchizya Mseteka reported for Reuters that Qadhafi said this before meeting with President Chiluba in Lusaka: "I asked President Kabila to meet the rebels in the interest of peace and he has accepted. We must all thank him for that. There is now no obstacle to the ceasefire in the Congo. Everybody including the rebels will take part in the Lusaka meeting. I'm here in Zambia to help (President Chiluba) unify the peace efforts and to thank (President Chiluba) for (his) tireless effort to achieve peace in the region."
