This week's program... MONDAY Fed Chairman Greenspan speaks at a National Summit on High Technology, sponsored by the Joint Economic Committee of Congress. WEDNESDAY The index that shocked the world last month, the Consumer Price Index, is reported for May, with the consensus looking for a modest rise of 0.2%, following April's whopping 0.7% advance. THURSDAY Leaning toward a rate hike? Some will be trying to divine this from the body language, if not the spoken language, of Fed chief Greenspan, who testifies on the outlook for the economy and monetary policy today before the Joint Economic Committee. The trade deficit for April is reported, and it is expected to have narrowed somewhat, to $19.4 billion from $19.7 billion in March.
