Just got my ADSL from Bellsouth.net. Installation was very easy. It took about 1 1/2 hours. They furnished me an Alcatel modem.

The technician demonstarted download speeds of around 1.2 megs per second. I don't know where to look to find the speeds myself.

It seems to me to be about 5-10 X faster than a 56 K. modem. Not blindingly fast, but a big improvement. I guess the destination servers are slowing me down.

And all I have to do to get online is double click the Internet Explorer modem. No dial ups. Wonderful!
