You guys are supposedly the experts; at least that's why I just joined this Silicon Graphics site. I came here to find out what you technicians in the group think about Broadcom's technical ranking in reference to its competitors? Who are its competitors? Are they close behind? ahead? Is Broadcoms technology easily replicated?

Thanks in advance. The reason I got into it was I saw it on "The Red Herring" and I love experiencing the effects of Broadband technology: to wit: I have a cable modem and it's like flying a rocket ship compared to the old modem which was like driving a donkey cart. I felt this had to be the way to go and apparently so does Barron's in that the primary story in today's and last weeks Barron's is about communications and highlights "broadband" communications. This weeks story being about Level III.

So if one of you "technogeeks" (and I say that with the most sincere admiration) could possibly explain in layman's terms why Broadcom has an edge---if it does---I would be greatly appreciative.

I understand stock prices, I have lost enough money on bad bets to prove it. But the technical side of BRCM has me in a loop. Basically, I am asking do you think that this stock will be THE Market Gorilla in the broadband industry; or is Intel, with its new perspective, hot on its trail.

I find it interesting that Intel has delayed the acquisition of Level I. What do you make of this?

Thanks in advance----It will be nice hearing from people IN the industry.

PS.
I had the 60 calls on this and panicked selling them when the stock dipped into the 50's and 40's-----those $1300 calls now go for 4000 plus. Talk about feeling bad !!!
