Don't know if this is using a rule of logic or not, but I know love exists because I love and experience love. I can observe that others experience it. Though you are right, one doesn't necessarily depend upon logic to know the things that one knows by experience. In the same way, we can say that we believe something we can call God exists because we someetimes experience feelings of contact/relationship with the divine. I have had occassional experiences which are difficult to understand or explain. Though these things may cause one to believe in God they don't answer any questions or explain anything.
