I haven't read the Brothers. (I find Russian novels very difficult because I have trouble keeping track of who's who. I'm not very good remembering names, I can deal with English names and variations, but not Russian. Plus remember that I was brought up in an era where anybody who read Russian novels was suspected of being an spy or a commie sympathizer. Beyond which, I still haven't finished all the English books I want to read.) Am I going to get more out of a translation of Brothers than I will get out of re-reading Shakespeare (I'm working my way through the histories right now for perhaps the 5th time) or Trollope or Austen for the fourth time, or . . .
