Sam, it takes more faith to not believe scriptures than it does to believe them. Have you read any of C.S. Lewis? Mere Christianity would be a good starting point. An atheist is living a life of faith in his refusal to believe. An agnostic is living a life of faith in his "step above" atheism. A Buddist is living a life of faith. And on and on it goes. It takes faith for the evolutionist to believe: In the beginning, a big blob of protoplasm...." There is a book out on mathematical probabilities re. prophecies in the O.T. You are really gambling your life to bet against the prophecies. Sam, people need the Lord, as the song goes--- To put your trust in your "experience" is a dead-end. You may be sincere, but sincerity doesn't cut the mustard. For example, let us suppose I awaken in the night with a splitting headache. I grope to the bathroom and reach for a bottle in the medicine cabinet---because the headache is severe, I take an extra dosage of pills---I'm sincere, I want to get rid of the headache, but in the groping for the pills, I pick up the wrong bottle and the dosage I take kills me. Is that fair? I was sincere. BUT I was sincerely wrong. Sam, return to the faith you once had in Jesus in your younger years. God bless you. I'm praying for you.
