Heroism is defined by intentions, not merely the consequences of actions. Considering that she attempted to use this situation to her benefit, and tried to set herself up as the powerbroker, in essence the blackmailer, of the President, I would not call her a hero. Just because the President is a sleazebag, does not mean his opponents are righteous defenders of morality and value. Rather I saw no honest figure emerge from that drama. All of them, in my estimation, are deplorable, not least of which is Linda Tripp.
