Well, E, thanks for your warm feelings about my post. However, I seem to be a little out of practice at posting, and particularly, posting, editing, and proofing my utterings until they are almost perfect. As I reread it now, there are many errors, mostly from taking things out and then forgetting to make sure there was still a sentient sentence there. And then there is the case where there is a plethora of commas!
I guess I am a little awed to be at the SI Grammar and Spelling Lab at all, a place I would never come on my own. I guess the moral of this story is that perception of a place IS formed to some degree by the title of the thread, just as it would be by the looks of a coffee house in 3D. First impressions ARE important!
Anyway, is it WHOM, or WHO, in my post? I seem to be forgetting the basic rules as I very gradually become the funny old lady in the purple hat with way too many nasturtiums in her garden! |
