As for your various PPSs, I hate to tell you this, but these "profound" questions of yours have been around for a zillion years, and people keep on coming back to them over and over again. Why?..Because the answers never satisfy them. I quoted Augustine only because he was the first one to pose the central question of theodicy in a neat, memorable way; but he certainly was not the last. And he has not been the last to try to answer it, either. Answers have included the PPS about the necessity of Evil for the appreciation of the Good...etc....etc....etc...etc.

If you read my posts carefully, you will note that I am not taking a position here: I am simply pointing out the obvious, scientifically demonstrable (hear that, Chuzz?) fact that these logical difficulties arise, and will continue to arise, as long as you are speaking of the Three-0 God. If yours is not a Three-0 God, you have nothing to worry about...<g>
