I'm glad I have a simple job like diplomacy in the Balkans.

I disagree that you will see panic in Europe. For one thing, they went through much worse economic straits in the 1970's and 1980's than we did. Now there is prosperity in most quarters but no one will be surprised to see a pullback or a recession. Britain and others have a much more diversified, tech-based economy now too.

From my experience in Europe and Africa, most people are not as addicted to constant growth and prosperity as Americans seem to be.

Which leads us back to those frantic quarter-to-quarter fund managers.
