AN EXCELLENT ON-LINE RESOURCE: INTELLIGENTSPECULATOR.COM
I have found an excellent, free on-line resource that I'd like to bring to your attention {no affiliation; I don't know them etc}: www.intelligentspeculator.com. I became aware of them through some very accurate, useful T.A. calls they have been making on the stock threads, and in the Stock-Index Futures-trading threads etc.
There is a lot of wisdom, technical analysis info, and trading methodology information on the site, all targeted at the sophisticated, professional short-term trader. What stands out on this site, is the QUALITY of the information that they have chosen to present (it isn't so much the QUANTITY, it's the QUALITY that comes through).
Rather unorthodoxically, they have "free" chat rooms where they monitor the market in real-time and identify setups for trades in the S&P Futures. This is neat stuff, and kudo's to them for offering it.
As I've advocated in some of my 'topic overview' posts, outside of being able to enter/set stops/manage trades effectively, they is little you can do to help yourself MORE than to develop a consistent way to accurately READ the market environment you're in - that is the only "real" leading indicator for stock traders, and a big step to unlocking consistency in your P&L. I watch the S&P Futures (and the Bond Futures) closely intra-day as major guideposts... however, this is tricky to do well - it can literally take years to learn how to do this effectively. So, this site could become a good tool in your arsenal if you're interested in "learning to read the spoos", which is powerful stuff for stock traders. Not to mention, if you can TRADE the spoos successfully (not recommending that you try), there is no stopping you... (they are the generally acknowledged as being the toughest futures market to trade successfully).
A lot of the great trading wisdom posted on their site mirrors my prior posts, in a much more refined, in-depth form of course. They recently won a "hot site" award from CNBC, but we won't hold that against them ;)
If you study the information on this site for a while, you may come to the conclusion, as I have, that this post could be one of the most useful that I've made to the thread! ;)
Good trading, -Steve |
