LONDON, June 13 (Reuters) - British high street bookseller
WH Smith <SMWH.L> said on Sunday its online service was cutting
prices by 50 percent on 200 book titles as part of a summer
promotion.
The company said in a statement it expected an Internet
booksale price war as a result of the offer.
Two weeks ago, WH Smith Online (www.whsmith.co.uk) cut
prices on its 20 top selling hardcover books, which it said was
met by similar moves by online retailing giant Amazon.com

Another European player in the online bookselling sector is
