"The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing" Jason Helly
A dorky title for a nifty little book. Excellent introduction to the basics of stock investing (discusses growth vs. value stocks, fundamental vs. technical analysis, and basic fundamental and technical measurements). Then goes into brief analyses of the strategies of the master investors -- Graham, Fisher, Buffett, Lynch, O'Neil, Pilgrim. Summarizes what they agree on and what their differences are. Then reviews lessons of history. Reviews discount brokers, mechanics of buying and selling, the most important investment publications, and how to get information about a company. Plus other stuff. All in 250+ pages, easy to read, but not simplistic, well laid out, with lots of eye relief. Not profound (except to the degree that simplifying the basics is profound) but useful even for experienced investors, and the best book I have found to recommend to my children and spouse.
  Highly recommended. |
