If that is the case, then I think the European vendors will have a significant execution advantage, hence my guess of prince for Qualcomm rather than king.

This is where all the confusion over modes comes in. If he means that the DS mode (i.e. W-CDMA) will roll out in Europe before the US, then yes and I even agree that in this mode Qualcomm will probably not be the undisputed leader. But, if he just means 3g roll outs of any mode, I think you will see volume roll outs in the US before Europe via the MC mode (i.e. CDMA-2000), and Qualcomm will maintain its lead. All JMO of course.
