A Desperate Daily:
I just got a sales call from the SF Chronicle ("the paper" as it was termed, as if they didn't want to admit which one) - free home delivery for 8 weeks. "Sorry, not interested." <click>
The Chron's last sales call a couple months ago wasn't as sweet a deal; then, they asked me to pay for Sunday to compensate the deliverer.... (Let 'em live in San Francisquito Creek, right KIS??)
We still get SJ Mercury News hardcopy because my wife wants to, but nevertheless it's free online. Same with the NY Times, so I ignore those sales calls too (even tho I love the paper).
And then I'm thinking, we don't get cable, even TV watching is at most a couple hours a week (perhaps Wall Street Week, Washington Week in Review, and Antique Roadshow). My wife still religiously listens to public radio in the mornings, but my door is shut so I can concentrate on the web to prep for market open.
Meanwhile, I spend about 40 hours a week on SI, Yahoo Finance, et al.
Just an observation this latest sales call prompted....
