Well, taxes are high in England, Sidney. There is definitely more of a social net there, and there is nationalized health care, as well. I am not sure what that has to do with gun ownership, however. My question had more to do with making the point that there are lots of people in perfectly stable, democratic western societies who seem to be able to live in freedom without protecting those freedoms with arms.

It's not actually a constitutional right to own a gun, anyway, but I think we have argued that before.
