No that was the PREVIOUS precipitous drop in gold... :0)

Have you forgotten the turmoil that was created when the British went off the gold standard and pegged their currency to the US dollar??

They sold their gold and then the US Fed stepped in and bought it back.

When are you going to face facts, DD?? The world has been hovering on the brink of global recession for several years. That has hardly bode well for the POG.

And if Asia's apparent lack of readiness for Y2K is any indicator, then I suspect it will get worse before it gets better.
