I agree that earnings will not be good this year. I think the institutions are accumulating because the outlook is changing. I believe last weeks news on growth in Japan sparked some more interest in the sector.

Next earnings season will show no suprises. BAD EARNINGS, but I think the CEO's will continue to plug that things bottomed early in the year. Remember a few quarters ago these stocks were posting record earnings, but fell because the outlook was negative.

No use looking at PE's in a turning sector. It will still take a year to get earnings rolling. If the global economy keeps strengthening we will be in the right sector. The US can then raise their interest rates and people will take their money out of most stocks and put them in this sector.

Now for real news. I caught a pile of Lake Trout this weekend. Piles and piles of them. What a fish fry we had.
