I tried RIM (Real Idea Machine) that was very good, and showed the top volume/ gainers/ losers/ breakout etc, and then a ranking column that weighted the various individual indicators. This is a real-time program that uses the RT data feed. It requires and daily download of the open and close positions to your computer each day.

I now use SORT WIZARD through Watley that will scan the daily trades from the RT feed, showing the most active, the biggest gainers/losers etc. You can filter only selected stocks ie. trades greater then 1000, value between $5 and $50, percentage gain greater then 2% etc. It takes about 10 seconds to complete the scan and present the results.

I'll be glad to discuss in more detail, and post the URLs if anyone is interested.

Jim
