As shareholders of a company, we all get hurt when a deal falls through. Many times large pharma co. pull out of agreements in various stages of drug development. That does not mean the drugs tested are no good, only that their priorities have changed.
We must remember biotechs are long term investments (3 to 5 years minimum).

Nortran has come a long way. Their cough program (drug CPI) which has a $1.6 billion market is currently in final preclinical stage. Phase I and II of this cough program are scheduled for this month, with results by August/99. Note the Drug CPI has previously been proven safe in humans.

The local anestetic drug is in Phase II and going into Phase III clinical trials.

The antiarrhythmics program is well advanced and at present Astra Zeneca (a much larger pharmaceutical company than Roche) has an agreement with Nortran. Astra is continuing further talks in regards to these drugs and other drugs in Nortran.
Roche was involved in part of the antiarrhythmic program where they were only testing four molecules of over 200 molecules that Nortran owns.

How many small biotech companies are in clinical Phase II with their drugs? How many drugs do they have in their pipelines?

I state my position as being only a long term shareholder of Nortran and nothing else.

Short term pain and long term gain.
