Jay, Vivo sucks and is getting worse. I was one of the first beta testers, some three and a half or four years ago, on that dog. It just won't stop barking. (Though I do give them credit for going against conventional wisdom at that time that streaming video would never work on the internet.)
Your friend is a true expert, a true expert "hair splitter". Plus he doesn't understand English. I have said a dozen times this is not a "compression" based technology, but he, like you use that word again. I agree that, that whole press release is poorly worded. I told you all that earlier tonight. Re. his copy of the quote:
...Its proprietary software enables users to transmit at 155 million bits per second over a single T1 line at 1.544 million bits per second, i.e., up to 103.3 times faster than a single T1 line...
Perhaps he would have liked it better if "the equivalent rate of" were used between the "at" and "155 million"....
Please also remind him that the Earth really does orbit around the Sun, not the other way around.
