Robert,

The problem that JBL, Les, Ish, Neocon, and me have
is that we have all read our history books. Everything
we have seen from history indicates that this mission
will fail to achieve lasting peace. Of course, Rome
had its "pax-Romana" or Roman Peace as it was known. If
you can put a UN trooper on every street corner on the
planet, you can have your "peace". The problem is that
every nation that has tried this has been doomed to
failure. I might suggest reading J. William Fullbright's
book "Arrogance of Power" which the Senator wrote in 1966
and warned about the coming disaster in Viet Nam. Of
course, LBJ was so drunk with power that he (like Clinton)
thought he could either bomb or bribe his way through any
kind of problem.

There you have it. I have warned you.

-John
