It seems that you and Alan G are talking about different things.

You are talking about Productivity Growth which has been happening throughout the centuries and will continue. No argument there, not even, I'm sure, form Alan G.

Alan talked about the rate of productivity growth which can't continue indefinitely.

Do the arithmetic: If the rate keeps increasing indefinitely, we go from a 2% to 5% range to infinite % growth in productivity; at which point all humans would have to be eradicated from the face of the earth to support continued growth in the rate. ;-)

Perhaps you're right. It can and should grow forever. LOL
