Mike, I'd like to address this in more detail at some later time, when I know more details. But for the moment, and if I'm reading this right, this could be a very large step forward in enabling photonic platforms for businesses in native optical form, while eliminating several very costly and cumbersome administrative, and transmission protocol and box-related steps required for conversions.

And another major potential achievement, if I'm reading this correctly, is the elimination of much of the "in and out of the central office," to and from the colo's, which adds expensive mileage to each high capacity link.

Gotta run right now. I'd be interested in hearing yours and others' thoughts on this, later...
