Kaiser says Sikaman climbs out of the dumpster

Sikaman Gold Resources Ltd SKG
Shares issued 155,565,482 Jun 11 close $0.26
Mon 14 Jun 99 In the News
John Kaiser, writing in the May 26 Bottom-Fishing Report, calls Sikaman
Gold Resources at 30 cents the ultimate dumpster-diving stock. That is
because it has traded for so long in the pennies as speculators played
games to see who could grind a penny out of the other. Then Internet fever
hit in April and the stock shot up over a dime; the Toronto Stock Exchange
sought an explanation. On May 17, Sikaman said it would acquire on-line
e-commerce mall for brand-name retailers called NorthstarMall.com for 10
million shares at 10 cents. The stock soared to 50 cents, giving it a
market cap of $75-million. Mr. Kaiser also offers his thoughts on what he
considers an invasion of privacy faced by consumers when they buy on-line.
He says such non-Internet gimmicks such as Safeway's Club Cards can collect
a frightening amount of information about one's buying habits and that
consumers are beginning to rebel through protective legislation. On-line
retailers collect this information to target their advertising.
