Scientific-Atlanta Inc. (SFA) rose 1 5/16, or 3.8 percent, to 36 1/4 and traded as high as 37 as the No. 2 U.S. maker of television set-top boxes said it will increase production of its Explorer 2000 digital interactive set-tops by 100 percent to 500,000 units a quarter by the end of 1999.
