Henry D,

Last year Alan decreased interest rates 3 times at 1/4 point each to help the ailing economies in Asia and elsewhere. Now those economies are recovering and a 1/4 increase this month is not bad at all --- many will welcome the move as an insurance for a continued Low-Inflation environment. The Bond Market and the Dow 30 which went mountain climbing this spring while the Semis and Semi-Equips Rested are exhausted. Some money from them will find solace in the Twin Semi Sectors.

A Rapid Fire increase in Interest Rates should be negative for the whole Market but that will not happen --- an increase this month and then a wait-and-see for the next month is in order. Meanwhile, AMAT should have the time to Sneak to 100 in August to October...
