Your explanation doesn't connect with reality. -g-
SCH, AOL, PFE, MER, etc are also the components of many index funds. All of them are down big. My take is that most stocks with visible "technical damage" are being dumped while other showing strength are being held on to (like Semis.) A lot of active fund managers react this way to "technical" factors. IMO.
