Sean, as a general pure mathematical principle, averaging down in losing stock has the overall effect to concentrate your funds in losing stocks. Do the "tortoise exercise" (or the black jack exercise as well), everytime the stock is half your last buy you double up, check what a hypothetical portofolio would look like after few years.
