You guys want to make a billion? Invest in VaxGen -- coming public this month. The head of VaxGen is Don Francis M.D. -- worlds famous virologist who worked with Jonas Salk. He has developed an AIDS vaccine. It's already in the final phase of testing (phase III) -- and 90% of drugs don't even make it that far. You haven't heard about it because there are "experts" out there (with axes to grind and grant money to lose) who say that "theoretically" this vaccine "can't" work. Yet it works in monkeys. And it has worked in preliminary phase trials. The market for an AIDS vaccine is $85 billion. You won't need to buy much to make a killing. You won't be able to get any IPO (Prudential doing it), but I suggest you nibble when it comes out, because in 3 years you will be like the secretaries at Microsoft -- buying homes on the cliffs overlooking Puget Sound.
