Scotsman,
i think you may be right about the deal falling apart due to the $10.00 drop in share price. at today's closing price for QWST(34.12) the offers to USW & FRO are 60.83 & 61.83 respectively nowhere near the offers of 80.00 & 75.00 per share. unless the offer is amended to include a collar why would the boards of either USW or FRO accept.
secondly, if QWST intends to be a long distance carrier to complete with WCOM & ATT, why is it buying USW, which can't do long distance.
i'm long QWST, GBLX & FRO and am i confused. would appreciate anyone's response.
