I have recently subscribed to Doug Casey, and so far I am not at all
impressed.

If have read his "Free bonus" reports, you would understand why. I
spent over $200 for a 2 year subscription, with the incentive of getting those free reports. What was on them? Simply common sense
information on selling short; a report on how gold is bound for $1000/oz in the near future; a skimpy and unsubstantial report on the "Next Bre-X", and a few useless reports that told me what I
already know from my education (Eg. convertable bonds).

In his January (Dec?) newsletter, he updated his favourite gold stocks. It contained around 30 - 40 gold stocks. With so many "favourites", its no wonder that he spent a maximum of 15 columned lines on each one. Not very insightful.

AND, the reports are always late.

One further thing I've noticed : he constantly mentions how he has positions in many of the firms he writes about. However, he also tells us that he is privy to private placements (which allow him to buy stocks at great discounts) that the ordinary investor like myself would have no opportunity to duplicate.

That's just my humble opinion. I AM still, however, considering putting some money into GRM. Unless the company gets some information out to investors though, its a tough call.
