I wanted to make a brief comment on this post. For years, people would point to Sweden as an example of how well moderate socialism worked, and contrast the comparative harmony that they seemed to experience when visiting with the social divisions in the United States. I took all of that with a grain of salt, and so also I take VISXbull's testimony about the wonderful social libertarianism of Amsterdam with a grain of salt...
