SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1999--Lumos
Technologies Monday announced the availability of its TL1 Agent for
Wind River Systems' (NASDAQ:WIND) VxWorks(R) embedded operating system
targeted at the telecommunications equipment manufacturer market.
The TL1 Agent product, shipping since January 1998, has been
successfully ported to VxWorks by several of Lumos' customers
including Digital Lightwave Inc. and Cerent Corp.
Lumos Technologies has now productized a pre-ported TL1 Agent for
VxWorks and the integrated Tornado development environment from Wind
River Systems. Lumos' TL1 Agent for VxWorks and their integrated
development environment for Tornado will be available in July 1999.
"Telecommunications equipment manufacturers have very rigid
time-to-market requirements and TL1 capabilities are crucial to
building carrier class solutions," said Fergal Lyons, director of
business development.
"By using the Lumos Technologies TL1 Development Environment and
Embedded Agent on the Wind River Systems platforms, equipment
manufacturers can reduce development time and guarantee OSMINE
compliance."

our Cerent 454, a TL1 managed device, using the products from Lumos
Technologies and Wind River Systems," said Terry Brown, vice president

multi-service SONET transport platform is OSMINE tested and ready for
integration with any TL1 based network management system."

Additionally, Lumos Technologies has joined Wind River's WindLink
Partner Program. "The partnership with Lumos Technologies will bring
to market coherent and well defined solutions to our
telecommunications customers," said Tracy Butler, director of
strategic programs for Wind River Systems.
"This partnership supports our goal of delivering more complete
solutions to our customer base of leading telecommunications
manufacturers."
