Industri-Matematik Introduces Fulfillment and Customer Service Portal Tools; Enables Organizations to Improve Customer Relationships over the Web

MARLTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1999--Extending its e-commerce product strategy, Industri-Matematik International Corp. (www.im.se) (NASDAQ:IMIC) today unveiled VIVALDI(TM) Portal, the first set of web tools which use portal technology to push role-based customer information to marketing, sales and customer service professionals.

As a component of Industri-Matematik's recently introduced VIVALDI e-commerce fulfillment and customer service suite, VIVALDI Portal provides organizations with new ways to acquire, develop and retain customers using Internet technology. The software enables companies to host portals that leverage the customer intelligence available in VIVALDI's supply chain, customer relationship and order management applications. VIVALDI Portal pushes strategic information tailored to specific business processes and alerts individual users.

"How a company leverages information is one of most critical factors in building effective customer relationships," said Stig Durlow, president and CEO at Industri-Matematik. "With the massive amounts of information available today, disseminating the information most useful and relevant to sales, marketing and customer service professionals is becoming increasingly important.

"Using personalized views and smart agent technology, VIVALDI Portal automatically targets, filters and pushes sales, marketing and fulfillment information that is immediately relevant to the user's role and responsibilities. By enabling individuals to personalize the information they receive about customer interactions, companies can optimize their customer relationships to increase customer satisfaction, market share and profitability," said Durlow.

VIVALDI Portal uses Java technology to provide a browser-based interface - with easy access, installation and maintenance. The initial enterprise portals, which are available today, are:

-- Sales Professional's Portal - software that can be customized to the unique requirements of an individual salesperson, managing information on all sales functions, such as lead handling, forecasting, correspondence and time planning. With this application, sales executives are constantly updated with real-time information directly related to sales, fulfillment and service activities. Having fast access to current information allows sales professionals to be more proactive in addressing individual customer needs and achieving shorter sales cycles.

-- Sales Manager's Portal - software specifically designed for sales managers to be actively involved with their sales team operations. Using this portal application, the sales manager can receive a live, current status of each individual salesperson's activities. Sales Manager's Portal facilitates setting sales targets, distributing leads to the sales team, sales follow-up progress, commenting on individual accounts, and enabling pipeline management.

Industri-Matematik will also be extending its portal capabilities to address the needs of logistics managers, service representatives, suppliers and customers. These initiatives further advance the Company's strategy of utilizing customer information as the central component behind excellence in fulfillment and customer service.
