Where do you see the word abandon in any of my post? I was talking closed for remodeling. And with good reason. Even after I close it, who shows up but lady Rockhead--he of the spread cheeks and sly come hither smile.

Not that the cow pasture of a course is a not bad idea, especially coming from Iowa home of those beautiful corn fed girls. (As opposed to the Cheese Enhanced "Woman" from Wisconsin. But I was thinking that maybe we could add a Shoeless Joe Jackson Hall of Fame, given that Iowa is home to Field of Dreams.

I mean my father who just died at the age of 94 was 46 when I was born, came from North Dakota, played minor league ball and raised us kids in the Chicago area, so it would be a great way to honor him as well. Throw in a golf course where hustlers make all kinds of side bets, and the honor is complete.

The Shoeless Joe Hall of Fame would be open to people of special talents who while they never were able to make it to where they should have in life because life brought on insurmountable obstacles, still played the game with their dignity intact. Nominated for inclusion would be Buck Weaver, the Black Sox third basemen who took no bribe and played his best. Til the day he died on 67th Street in Chicago, he valiantly tried to have his name cleared.
