Comcast Corp. (CMCSK) rose 1 7/8, or 5.6 percent, to 35 1/2 and traded as high as 35 5/8. The third-largest U.S. cable-TV company said it's generating cash flow of as much as $10 a month from each subscriber to its new digital cable service as soon as the set-top box is installed. The cost of operating a digital cable service is close to zero after hooking up the set-top box, said Steve Burke, president of Comcast's cable unit, during a panel discussion at the National Cable Television Association conference in Chicago.
