This announcement should positively affect INTC, actually; every time the margins in the OEM business are reduced, Intel lowers the price point of PCs without lowering its own margins. Increased sales without diminished margins means better earnings.

Intel has used this strategy to squeeze the profit out of the VAR business and keep the profits in processors.
