Just a thought, but how much of that could be posturing on the part of Bell South to cover up a takeover by proxy? Two years from now, when the regulatory crap is sorted out, BLS buys the rest of QWST and low and behold, also acquires the assets of the former USW. Maybe last week was not to discuss a takeover of QWST, but rather to 1. Get BLS in the door on USW, and 2. To make QWST unattractive to a company like Deutsche Telecom.

Either way, the market is pricing QWST and GBLX as if both companies will succeed. Somebody will get short term pop when they "lose".
