Digital Microwave Corporation OC-3 Radio Covers Range
of North American Frequency Bands

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- At the SUPERCOMM 99 trade
show in Atlanta, June 8-10, Digital Microwave Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC)
is showcasing its spectrally efficient Altium(TM) SONET/OC-3 radio.
Introduced a year ago, the Altium product now includes a complete
North American product line, with frequency coverage at 6, 11, 18,
23, and 28 GHz. The Altium family of point-to-point radios is thus the
most extensive line of OC-3 radios to be found in the North American
market today.

The Altium radio family is optimized as a solution for access to
broadband telecommunication services -- a rising requirement as
communication network operators meet the needs of customers sending
and receiving data-intensive, multimedia communications as well as
voice. The Altium product is a cost-effective and reliable alternative
to fiber optics in these situations. As a wireless solution that does
not require the time and expense of excavation for installation, the
Altium family of radios offers the tremendous advantage of quick
deployment, enabling telecommunications carriers to expedite the
addition of services.

The range of frequency coverage within the Altium product line
enhances its uses in a wide range of applications. It is particularly
suited for carrying high-capacity telecommunications across the last
mile to network customers, for deployment within campuses for
broadband services, and for high-capacity transmission over longer
distances.

The Altium radio family features a compact outdoor unit, suitable for
a roof-top installation with an antenna, and an indoor unit. In
addition to the frequencies listed for North American coverage, the
Altium radio family is available for international use at STM-1
capacities in the 7, 8, 15, 26 and 13 GHz frequency bands.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Digital Microwave Corporation
provides microwave radio solutions to connect, enable and grow
communications networks worldwide. The Company's industry-leading
broadband, medium-capacity and low-capacity radios transport data,
voice and video for public and private networks in a wide range of

Digital Microwave Corporation Announces LMDS Solution
With Its XP4 Series Of Microwave Radios

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave Corporation
(Nasdaq: DMIC), announces the availability of the popular XP4 Series
of digital microwave radios for the Local Multipoint Distribution
System (LMDS) access bands. The new XP4 DS-1 and DS-3 products cover
the 27.35 to 31.30 GHz frequency bands, which have been allocated to
LMDS service providers. The availability of the LMDS frequencies
allows deployment of the XP4 series of point-to-point radios as a
backhaul or dedicated access solution in an LMDS multipoint network
environment. The XP4 series allows maximum use of LMDS spectrum, and
provides a solution to problems associated with fiber optics, copper
and coax lines. Without fear of cut lines and costly right of ways, an
XP4 system can be installed at a fraction of the cost, and in less
time. Radio maintenance and network expansion is simple and
inexpensive.

Featuring advanced, all-digital, indoor-to-outdoor, single-cable
communication technology, the XP4 series of radios offers the fastest
and easiest ''out-of-box'' installation and commissioning in the
industry. It also offers low network life-cycle costs and flexibility
in the selection of transmission capacity and frequency bands. XP4
answers the demand for affordable, reliable and efficient wireless
connections in the expanding LMDS spectrum.

The XP4 series of microwave radios operates in North America in
licensed bands from 15 to 38 GHz, at capacities of 4x/8xDS-1 and DS-3.
For international use, XP4 operates at 7 to 38 GHz in capacities of
2x/4x/8x E1 and E3/16E1. All radio models include a compact, single-
rack-unit indoor unit. Typical XP4 applications include fixed-network
infrastructure, last-mile connections for carriers, network
interconnections for mobile communications, including PCS/PCN and
microcellular applications, and private network connections.

Digital Microwave Corporation Announces ISP Network Radio Solution

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Addressing the needs of
Internet Service Providers and other network operators for a wireless
data transport, Digital Microwave Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC) is
introducing its new ISP solution for the DART(TM) family of radios at
the SUPERCOMM 99 trade show in Atlanta, June 8-10. With this new
product option, the Company's DART digital microwave radio is equipped
with a 10Base-T interface -- the typical interface for data
communications.

The DART is an all-outdoor radio offering an extremely cost-effective
alternative to the expense of leased lines when new network services
need to be brought on-line. Its economy and speed of installation are
helping telecommunications providers meet growing customer demands for
services. With the 10 Base-T addition, which provides a cost-
competitive, packet-based interface for last-mile access and campus-
based LAN interconnection, the hallmark versatility of the DART radio
is extended to ISP and IT managers.

The DART radio operates in licensed bands from 15 to 38 GHz, with a
capacity of 1xDS-1, for North American use, or 1xE1 for international
use. It also is fully compatible with Digital Microwave Corporation's
higher capacity radio products, including the Altium OC-3/STM-1 radio
and the XP4 Series of mid-capacity radios.

The 10 Base-T interface is the latest addition to a list of cable
termination options for the DART radio. A V.35/X.21/EIA530 interface
and standard circuit interfaces also are available. The new 10 Base-T
interface resides in an extremely compact cable termination unit,
which is easily installed with the DART radio.
