This is no craze....

>>>>>>There have been many crazes in the past, Atlantic city in 1978, gold and oil in 1980, computers in 1983, biotechs in 1992, radio in 1929, yadda yadda yadda.

The internet has already changed my life. I pay my bills on line. I buy my jeans at www.gap.com. I stopped subscribing to the newspaper and read it on line - don't even need a tv guide, got it online. Don't watch the news on TV...read it online. BTW, why will people go to school anymore? Online classes offered by universities offer greater variety. Do we need to expand our libraries when we can access books, periodicals, etc. online? If/when others join in, do we need 3 shopping malls in every community - or just 1? What will happen to commercial real estate?

Sure, some things won't change. I still have a gardener to mow my lawn (but I pay him online too!). The biotech craze did not change my life. The internet already has and it is only in its infancy. The opportunity is great. Will all the current companies survive? - probably not. But those that do will be worth exponentially more than they are today. I am betting that CMGI is one of those winners!
