CNBC just had a resume of COMPAQ. A sort of gothic horror theme show introduction. Then a fairly nice report on the new products with PR film. Then a sceen stating that there will be a 2Q loss, too much inventory etc, with a fairly faint signature indicating that all of this being displayed and read was actually the opinion of Kumar. Then back to Lawson of CPQ. A denial that there are inventory problems and a motherhood statement that the company is working hard to get back to the growth to which its investors are accustomed. The finsih was Davies asking whether EP had found a new job.
