I don't mind curmudgeons. I am sometimes one myself. I mind simple evil.

Another SI poster, whose opinion I respect (as I do yours) wrote to me some time ago about nihil "he is an unpleasant piece of work. Eventually he can make one feel a need for a shower. At best, he is a sophist. He is also a manipulative liar."

It took me longer, but I eventually reached the same conclusion. Making one feel in need of a shower is an excellent description.

When I engage in discourse I am interested in some semblance of discussion, some semblance of at least contemplating respect for the other person's opinions and beliefs. Perpetual negativism about everything and everybody, continual attempts to demean and diminish and tear down anybody and everybody and their beliefs, without any attempt ever to be positive or make SI a pleasant place to talk with friends doesn't strike me as any form of discussion and doesn't interest me. We all know that it is easier to destroy than to create. Some people also find it much more fun to destroy than to create.

Nihil can have his conversations with the people who enjoy him, I will stay in the next room and have conversations with the people who enjoy me, and the lovely thing about cyberspace is that people who enjoy both of us can move from from room to room with the speed of light, sharing with both of us and everybody happy.
