OK...maybe you have some idyllic locations but, I bet we got more.
The reference to cattle was an illustration. They are not my favorite animals except, I do love a good, medium rare steak.

Where I live, people are not driving fast enough to accidently hit a deer. Here they stop and let them go on by.
At some homes nearby, they will come up into the yard for a hand out and almost adopt the place as home.

Good for your stepmother's family! I mean that sincerely.
