jim g, thanks for the observations. much appreciated. << But now he believes they are a year to a year and a half ahead in asic technology and used the example of their new 16 port switch all on 1 chip which is extremely fast. >> this new asic sounds exciting, for what it will do to the cost of switching. did Ken elaborate any further on this? is it sampling already? it is sort of confusing hearing from Roy that brocade is right behind in technology, yet Ken says they are over a year ahead. it has been rumored on the threads for some time that brocade's latest switch keeps getting delayed and is not currently shipping. i do not know if this is true or not, and wondered if any industry insiders could tell us if it is or not? ladies, i hope you keep posting. it is good to see more finally speaking up here. we need more level-headed discussions here ;-), especially with the ubiquitous daytrading nonsense over on yahoo. cheers, pigboy
