<You tunnel visioned morons> You sure know how to win friends and influence people!

<Granted, it will only work in urban centers,> That's a big drawback vs. CD radio

<the additional abilities any two way system will offer far outweight any push satellite radio system > What additional abilities? e-mail, web browsing? Those capabilities are already becoming available now on cell phones, pagers and PDA's.

<in the middle of Colorado when I can just as easially pop in a CD.> You can also pop in a CD in the middle of Manhattan so why would anyone want CD radio or internet radio? Because they don't want to pop in the same old CD in the middle of Colorado. They want something current, fresh and lot's of variety, something CD radio can provide, a CD cannot and internet radio cannot... in the middle of Colorado.

<CDRD is nothing more than a glorified radio> And HDTV is nothing more than a glorified TV and a cell phone is nothing more than a glorified telephone.

AJ, nobody disputes that it can't be done using IP. Currently Metricom's service costs $29.95 per mo. That's 3X the projected cost of CD Radio. A Rio like device cannot possibly be as easy to program and use as a car radio and how many simultaneous streaming audio downloads can Metricom's system support? Then there's the coverage issue.

<Look, you guys can blow smoke up your butts all you want> Sorry AJ, I'm still not convinced. You'll have to come up with some stronger insults before you win me over. Why you want to though I still can't figure out.
