Henry, I agree with you to the degree that foreign investment in the '80s was directed at owning stocks and trading I suppose as opposed to owning the companies and running them. The Japanese did not want to be owned and prevented that through various regulations, gimmicks etc...

As Japan Leasing, Nissan and prior to them Mazda and Yamaichi showed, they are now a lot less apprehensive to be foreign owned I think.
