As I sit here at my computer with the window open, I can hear the wild doves calling to
each other..very pretty, peaceful sound :)...

I don't have doves, but yesterday as I was clicking away I looked up and a deer was nibbling the ivy on the tree about three feet from my open windowl. While we were cooking dinner a few days ago, two fawns strolled down the walk and along the path under the kitchen window.
Actually, while I like the deer on occasion, they are getting to be a bloody nuisance, and I feel like advertising for a great white hunter to come help us out. Last week they demolished my peas that were climbing the garden fence and starting to blossom, and the only thing that protects the rest of the garden is the 7' high fence.

But even worse than the deer are the wild turkeys. How Ol' Ben thought of making them America's bird I do NOT know. Of course, he didn't have a car, but if he had lived in an area where they lived you would have thought they would have nailed his carriage occasionally. In case you weren't aware, wild turkeys spend the day on the ground, but in the evening they fly (well, lumber -- they are a riot to watch struggling to fly from one branch to one four feet away and 2 feet higher, then rest, then on to the next branch, then rest...) But they end up 40 or 50 feet up in the tree. And then they do it, and when a turkey does it it is like no bird poop you have ever seen. (Plus, they are NOISY. When the loudest sound you should be hearing as you go to sleep is the chuckle of waves on the beach, turkey gobbling is NOT peaceful or restful.) About a year ago I came out to drive to work in the morning and there were two poops right on the windshield, hardened on.

And seeing what this thread is about, I should have said I called my wife to clean them off. But unfortuntely I had to do it myself. I still shudder when I hear the damn birds at night. (They don't sleep in the same trees each night, but wander from place to place sleeping in any tree that suits their fancy. I think when a flock has spent the night in a tree they are well aware that they don't want to get near that tree again for a while. Watching them "glide" down in the morning, though, is one of the most hilarious things you have ever seen. A not very controlled crash. They clearly follow the old pilot's saying that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.)

So enjoy your doves and be glad it's not worse than that!
